The storyline of the film, Dorian Gray, didn't change too much from the original story book by Oscar Wilde. It helped me to understand the story, than just reading the book alone. I enjoyed the book due to its old fashioned writing and the subtlety of the wording that described the sins committed by Dorian, but watching the film made it clearer to understand.
In the film, Dorian Gray was played by Ben Barnes and Lord Henry Wotton was played by Colin Firth; I think the choice of actors was good for these roles as the characters were portrayed well, and as I had expected them to be. Dorian was well played as a sinful character seducing women and girls in secret, being deceiving and taking influence from Harry. Lord Henry Wotton was played as a secretive character, also deceiving but smart and always watching over Dorian and treating him like his play thing. I enjoyed watching the film as it was good at giving the viewers a better idea of what Oscar Wilde was writing; the gory and very creepy way the painting changed day by day gave the film an eery and thriller feel to it. Personally I prefer to watch while learning, this makes it easier for me learn quickly, watching the film has given me more of an insight into the whole story line, and the sins that were committed by Lord Henry and Dorian.

This is a list of all the make-up and hair stylists and artists who worked with the actors and staff on the film. This interested me as film and tv makeup is where I see my future, I find it interesting and exciting to see all the members of the makeup and hair team have a role and work together to make sure the makeup looks perfect. This type of film makeup is something that I see myself doing, and I was pleased to see there where trainee make artists on the list.
