Death masks
Like post mortem photography, making death masks of the deceased was another way to grieve and remember the loved ones who had past. Death masks in and before the 18th century where used to recognise the face of someone who has passed, no we do this with photographs, even in the 19th century photographs where taken to remember the deceased but where very expensive and sometimes too much to afford, especially for the poorer society. Statues of Queen Victoria and Albert are shown in museums and where made with the help of death masks, this is to get the most accurate facial imprint to respect and remember them. Albert had his death mask done soon after he died and was made into a memorial for him, in the name of Victoria.
